Bamblu LLC Earns USDA Certified Biobased Product Certification and Label
Sebastopol, CA. (July 06, 2012) — Bamblu LLC has earned the USDA Certified Biobased Product Label for its Bamblu Palm Leaf Plates. The USDA Certified Biobased Product Label verifies that the product’s amount of renewable biobased ingredients meets or exceeds levels set by USDA. Biobased products are finished or intermediate materials composed in whole or in significant part of agricultural, forestry, or marine ingredients.
"Bamblu's efforts toward providing quality palm leaf tableware began with our acquisition of Arthware, now known as Bamblu Palm Leaf Plates. In 2012, the USDA's validation of our palm leaf products was the first in the U.S. for disposable dinnerware made of areca palm leaves. We are excited to continue and expand the distribution and use of a single palm leaf for your plate or bowl, whether for fine dining or a snack. We believe the USDA's certification is a necessary stamp of approval to assist in assuring the public of Bamblu's truly eco-conscious products and high standards," says managing partner, Vangie Pullins.
All biobased amount claims are verified by independent labs and monitored by the USDA. Consumers may feel secure in the accuracy of the biobased amount and be empowered in making better informed purchasing decisions.
"We are proud that Bamblu LLC has earned the USDA Certified Biobased Product Label," said Ron Buckhalt, USDA BioPreferred Program Manager. "Biobased products add value to renewable agriculture commodities, create jobs in rural communities and help our nation decrease its reliance on foreign-sourced and non-renewable petroleum."
The label has previously been on Arthware certified products and available to consumers since July, 2012. The following is an example of the label:
